Introduction
In the summer of 2019, I took the course, Education 747: Supported Literacy. As a participant in this course, I tracked my learning and reflections from the text Understanding Reading Problems: Assessment and Instruction to support activity in this course in a personal teacher diary. My learning from this text was them applied to my practicum, which was in the form of a case study.

To be an effective educator and reading teacher, it is essential that I am knowledgeable about best practices and and learning about newest research to develop myself as a teacher to benefit my students. Completing this writer's notebook, allowed me to reflect on my learning and think about how I could apply it to my classroom to enhance my instruction. In addition, I was able to obtain valuable feedback from my professor to further my thinking and reflecting. This assignment also taught me how to take research and researched based interventions and instruction and directly apply it to my case study when I was working with a reading student. This was a valuable assignment that has taught me how to use research and reflect on my practices.
